Andee is home

Andee and Vickie made it back to Hawaii on December 11, 2010. Vickie and Hope originally had their first appointment at the Embassy in Kinshasa on 2 November, 2010 and we all expected that they would be back home well before Thanksgiving--well that just wasn't to be.

George and I spent many a frantic day worrying about the four of them in the Congo and doing what we could to help, but they were halfway around the world (literally) and in about 8 different timezones from us.

I flew to Las Vegas on that Saturday when Vickie and Andee were coming home. I wanted to surprise Vickie and I also wanted to get a look at my little girl. Well Vickie was very surprised (so was Andee--she was like "who are you and stay away from my mom and me") and Andee is just so beautiful. Pictures don't do her justice, she is a lovely little girl and she has settled in at the Laubach's very well.

It has been an adjustment for the kids as we didn't have a toddler in the house before (we had Peyton but she is a Granddaughter and niece which is a little different) and so it has taken the kids some reminders that oh by the way Andee is two not a teenager. She loves them and they love her. she loves to meet them after school and run to them and give hugs and kisses.

She and Peyton are also the swimming stars of the house, they love the pool and so Andee is alwasys thrilled when Peyton comes over to go swimming. Andee loves to sing and dance and her favorite foods are macaroni and cheese and rice and chicken. she also really likes canned peas and she wouldn't be a Laubach if she didn't like to top it all off with a little ice cream.
